How to create idx/sub subtitles in any character set for the WD TV (FW 1.02.04)

idx/sub subtitles on wdtv!

1) Download Txt2VobSub (windows only, no install) - (Tools)

2) Open it and load your srt file.

3) Choose the correct frame rate (fps) of the video you want to play with subs.

To know the frame rate, use MediaInfo (Tools) software.
Or open it with e.g. VLC, and then, on VLC's menu bar, click on View > Stream and Media Info. A little window appears: go to the advanced information there and you'll see the frame rate there.

4) Back on Txt2VobSub, choose the options as can be seen on the attached image. Here's the description:

> Output language = your language (not needed, but nice)
>Colors (extremely important to be like this:)
Anti-alias - white
Outline - white
Text - gray
> Color options = select the third option (pc and dvd)
> Font Name = I've used Arial
> Font Charset = the one you need for your language.
> Font Size = the biggest one you can have until it gives an error stating that some lines were too big. If that error appears, choose a smaller size and re-load the srt.
> Align = Center
> Offset = I've left it as it was.
> Outline = 3

5) Press "Generate Vobsub" and wait until it finishes.

6) In the end you'll have an idx and a sub file, both with the same name as the srt. Place the idx, the sub and the video file (AVI, MKV, MP4) on your external drive/thumb, all with the same file name. Plug it into the WD TV.

7) Enjoy!

Example:

Here's a link to the English idx/sub for season 3, episode 13, of Lost. If you have the avi file Lost.S05E13.Some.Like.It.Hoth.HDTV.XviD-NoTV.avi then it will fit marvelously.

1- It's not working for me.
2- the image attached to this topic has LTR subtitle, but Persian or Arabic languages are RTL.

How can I find sub and idx file format structure?
